The Water Finds Its Level

Received in the quiet of morning, as the waning crescent exhales toward Libra's new beginning.
The question rose on its own, the way questions do in the hours before the world remembers itself:
What is our collective lesson? Is there one in the world's current storm? Are we to learn, to do, or simply to witness?
A reminder surfaced, soft as tide.
Water always finds its level.
Another followed.
Nature seeks balance.
Physics answered plainly.
What goes up must come down.
The Wheel turns.
Even stars spend themselves — flare, fade, fall. And still the sky remains.
I was brought, in that stillness, to a memory. Not my own, exactly — more the kind that arrives when you're quiet enough to receive it.
A scene from a film long past. A Patch of Blue, 1965. Sidney Poitier, seated beside a young blind woman whose world had been small and unkind, reached out in a moment that was not in any script — and softly touched her cheek.
The studio wanted it removed. The world outside the studio walls would have agreed. This was 1965, and a Black man touching a white woman's face, however tenderly, however honestly, was the kind of truth that made powerful people deeply uncomfortable.
He refused to let them cut it.
When pressed, he said simply:
"If truth offends, then maybe it's time truth did."
The gesture remained. His co-star, Elizabeth Hartman, later said it gave her the courage to open up fully in the role. One unscripted moment of genuine human contact — and everything that followed was truer because of it.
That is what grace looks like when it refuses to bow.
Then the message moved, quiet and sure:
The signs surround you. You ask if you are meant to do something as a collective. The answer remains as it has always been: There's no need to fear the world around you if you are awake to the world you are creating.
Every day, in every moment, you choose the shape of your world. No one else. It is said the devil is in the details. Make no mistake — the Divine is there too. In the tiny choices: to rise with the morning; to meet another with gentleness or with judgment; to heal and grow, or to stay stagnant and spread fear.
Each day you decide how to arrive, who you will be, whether this is the day you listen to your own heart and stand firm in what you find there.
And when the world comes knocking — greet it with grace, but do not let it in.
If you are asking of lessons to learn or actions to take in whatever environment surrounds you, ask instead: Who am I, truly? Who do I choose to be? Does this align with the world I long to help create? Then be courageous enough to walk that truth.
As for everything else? The water will always find its level. Nature always seeks balance. And never forget — everything is connected.
The morning held its quiet a little longer after that.
Some things don't need interpretation. They only need to be received.
